on Monday, 10th of April, with an aim to enhance cultural cooperation between the two countries by organizing various cultural events that will serve to present Singaporean culture in Doha.
During the meeting, an agreement was made to stage a musical performance in the near-future, to showcase the traditional music of the Republic of Singapore at Katara's premises.
Speaking on the occasion, The General Manager of the Cultural Village Foundation- Katara, H.E. Dr. Khalid bin Ibrahim Al-Sulaiti warmly welcomed the Singaporean envoy, saying that Katara is keen on building communication bridges with the aim of sharing culture, heritage and traditions of all countries.
On the meeting occasion, the Singaporean envoy to Doha praised the unceasing efforts and the positive response of the Cultural Village Foundation-Katara to provide the public with a wide range of events and performances from various cultures.
Additionally, the envoy said, "I have been in Qatar for five months, and I have visited Katara many times. Each time I'm truly astonished by the ceaseless efforts that the Village is conducting in an aim to spread authentic Qatari culture to foreigners while presenting foreign cultures to its citizens. Katara's endeavors to promote understanding and communication between civilizations is truly inspirational and this is exactly what the world needs now."
H.E Mr. Jai S Sohan concluded the meeting by saying that he looks forward to working closely with the Cultural Village Foundation-Katara to present Singaporean culture through traditional performances.
The meeting concluded with H.E. Dr. Khalid bin Ibrahim Al-Sulaiti and H.E. Mr. Jai S Sohan exchanging souvenirs to mark the occasion.
