Fear your Lord, who created you from a single soul, and created from it its mate, and propagated from them many men and women) (women 1), in order to entrench the morals of cooperation, mutual understanding and convergence on the good: “O people! We created you from a male and a female, and made you races and tribes, that you may know one another ” (13 the Chambers).He also added: “We are very keen to build bridges between cultures and civilizations, as the Masjid was also a place to spread various sciences and knowledge, culture and education, tolerance and moderation that enlightened the history.Faith and spiritualityDuring the holy month of Ramadan, The masjid of Katara holds intensive courses for the memorization of the Quran under the supervision of qualified and competent teachers, as these courses realized remarkable success and is currently attracting children, and appreciated by parents for its educational practices and outcomes, as this session aims to encourage children between the ages of 5 and 12 years to memorize and recite the holy Quran and contemplate its meaning and carry out its teachings, as well as its importance in infusing virtuous values and ethics.Katara Masjid expects during the season of Ramadan a high turnout, as worshipers attend the program of (Nafhat faith) and perform the Taraweeh prayers lead by Sheikh Mohamed Makki (former Imam of the Umayyad Masjid in Aleppo) in a wonderful atmosphere of faith and spirituality.The Katara Masjid is a unique grand architectural masterpiece in the region, as it was designed by the Turkish architect Zainab Fadli Oglu, according to the most beautiful and best technical specifications and engineering, which highlights the combination of an amazing mix between the various Islamic arts through the ages, reflecting the richness and diversity of Arab and Islamic civilization. Exterior and interior architectural designs of the Masjid, in addition to the minaret and the dome and Mihrab (Apse), are all inspired by Masjids of many renowned cities and capitals of different Muslim countries, such as Turkey, Syria, Turkmenistan and northern Persia. The magnificent linear panel made of stretched canvas and it was written (Allah fateh al-abwab) at the heart of the mihrab, is one of the famous paintings in the Great Masjid in Bursa – Turkey, as well as all the craftsmanship arts such as lines, decorations, inscriptions and mosaics have been carried out by the most skilled craftsmen and artists from around the world.Moreover, the Katara Masjid inspired its outside shape from the Masjid of the Dome of the Rock in Jerusalem, the most important and oldest Islamic architectural memorials, as it represents the gem of Masjids, it includes the Rock where the Prophet Muhammad peace be upon him started the night journey to heaven, in addition to the artistic harmony and splendor of Islamic civilization.
