Katara is gearing up to stage Winter Festival 2018

Stemming from its keenness to present a wide array of cultural events, the Cultural Village Foundation- Katara is all set to host the fifth edition of the Winter Festival

starting on the 18th of January and lasting until the 22nd of the same month. The festival comes in with a full-fledged program entailing an array of entertaining and cultural activities.

The festival is organized in cooperation with a number of entities, centers, sectors and other organizations located at Katara.  The activities will comprise of a number of performances, including a European show, as well as popular folklore shows, amusing events and informative competitions.

In addition, the public will have an opportunity to acquire traditional and artistic pieces from Katara's Traditional Souq, which shall include a diversified range of pavilions that offer various products, such as; textiles, perfumes and unique art pieces.

The fifth edition of the Winter Festival, will also see Al-Gannas Association participating with an exhibition and educational workshops for young falconers, as well as Al-Da'oo and Hudad Al-Suloqi at Katara's Esplanade. In addition, the organizers of Al-Galayel Championship will host an exhibition displaying collectables and equipment from all previous championships. Moreover, the Ministry of Municipality and Environment is scheduled to organize 'winter planting' workshops for children.

An exclusive campaign on health awareness and free medical checkups for the public, together with, blood sugar and blood pressure tests, calculating body weight conducted by the Syrian American Medical Center, Al Hayat Medical Center, Bin Muftah Center, Naseem Al Rabeeh Medical Centre, Value Medical Center and Boston Medical Care.

From the sideline activities of the festival, Tamim Toast Master International Club will offer entertaining shows on the art of public speaking and classic poetry and Bedaya Centre is participating with a display of new business startups held with an aim to educate the public on the various services provided by each project.

It is noteworthy that the festival will be staged at Katara's Esplanade, from 4:00pm – 9:00pm until January 22.
