Katara will present a Ballet Gala for 2 nights at the Opera House on the 13th and 15th of November. In equal parts, the Gala will fascinate the experienced ballet lover – and captivate those who are new to this noble art form. This will be an evening of dance to provide a glimpse of the diversity created across two hundred years of artistry. This programme has been crafted to present some of the most important styles of dance arranged in dynamic fashion – ranging from classical to neoclassical to modern styles. The night will feature iconic fragments from those immortal Russian classics of the XIX century Swan Lake, Giselle & Le Corsair. A special place has also been given to masterpieces of XX century choreography. Works by William Forsyth, Roland Petit, George Balanchine and Ben Stevenson have all been selected. Such a range of styles will make this is an essential event for those wishing to learn more and delve deeper into ballet. To top it all, these majestic works will be delivered by some of most exciting dancers of the moment. You will have a chance to see genuine stars, from the world’s most established ballet theatres including the Mariinsky Theatre, New York City Ballet, Paris Opera and Staatsballett Berlin. These dancers have the exquisite qualities needed to recreate these wonderful pieces and they will make these 2 nights unforgettable.
